Cybercrime has been defined as “any criminal or other offence that is facilitated by or involves the use of electronic communications or information systems, including any device or the Internet or any one or more of them” "Cybersecurity" is the practice of making the networks that constitute cyberspace secure against intrusions, maintaining confidentiality, availability and integrity of information, detecting intrusions and incidents that do occur, and responding to and recovering from them.
Cybercrime and cybersecurity are issues that can hardly be separated in an interconnected environment. The fact that the 2010 UN General Assembly resolution on cybersecurity addresses cybercrime as one major challenge underlines this.
